Benefits of performing Umrah in the light of Hadith
Umrah is a spiritual ritual that is performed by Muslims from around the world. It is a Sunnah of our beloved Prophet (S.A.W) to perform Umrah anytime except the five days of Hajj when it is considered makrooh.
For the completion of Umrah, it is mandatory for each and every Muslim to wear Ihram: two pieces of white cloth for males and clean clothes for females. Then, a Muslim circumambulates the Ka’ba seven times, known as Tawaaf and performs Saa’i which is walking at a brisk pace between the hills of Safa and Marwah. At last, men shave their heads and women cut her hair according to her fingertip length.
Mentioned below are some of the benefits for the performance of Umrah.

Mentioned below are some of the benefits for the performance of Umrah.
Umrah and Ramadan:
Umrah and Ramadan go hand in hand as the Umrah performed during Ramadan is equivalent to the performance of Hajj. This is due to the fact that in Ramadan the rewards are multiplied as it is a month of blessings and rewards. Hajj and performance of Umrah in Ramadan are compared to put emphasis on the significance of Umrah. It has been duly noted that Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W) has emphasized the importance of Umrah on different occasions.

Guest of Allah:
When a Muslim is given the opportunity to visit the House of Allah, he is considered as the Guest of Allah. The journey for the performance of Umrah brings inner peace and satisfaction to an individual. When the pilgrims reach either Makkah or Madinah, a sense of serenity, tranquility, and gratitude is set upon them. They visit these holy places with the intention for atoning their sins and asking for Allah Almighty for forgiveness as Allah never disappoints his believers.

Source of soul cleansing:
The performance of Umrah is a source of soul cleansing for the believers. It has been reported by Abu Hurairah (RA) that Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W) said that the time period between two Umrah is considered the redemption of sins which are the minor misdeeds occurred between the two. The major sins are not included whereas only the minor ones are mentioned. Thus, for a believer, the Umrah helps to cleanse his souls by forgoing all his past sins. The believer must have a good intention and a sound heart in order to remove all previous wrongdoings committed by a person.

Protection from poverty:
Another benefit for the performance of Umrah is protection from poverty. Almighty Allah protects an individual from poverty as Muslims spend in the way of Allah. The believers spend their time and money for the sake of Allah where they are returned with many blessings and rewards. Umrah not only helps in the life of Hereafter but also helps one to gain worldly benefits including protection from poverty. Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W) has said that the performance of Umrah or Hajj eradicates poverty and sins. This is similar to the removal of impurities such as gold, silver, and iron from the fire.
